Every day, I either post a new, original black and white portrait from Cambodia as My Photograph of the Day or an original experimental color photograph created in Cambodia.

Today’s selection is a new piece of fine art experimental photography from Cambodia titled Abstract Vibrant Figure Montage.

Each piece is a unique creation reflecting my ongoing quest for artistic expression.

Artist’s Context

This montage began with a technically precise, black-and-white figure study captured in Santa Fe several years ago. Looking at it now, it is hard to believe the image started so simply.

While the original monochrome photograph stands strong on its own, it evolved through a series of unrecorded, experimental iterations into its current state—a transformation I am pleased with.

When I say “unknown iterations,” I mean exactly that. I cannot recreate the specific steps taken to build this montage, nor will I try. The process was entirely intuitive; the spontaneous journey of creation matters far more than a documented recipe.

The piece’s diptych nature and vibrant color spectrum form its visual foundation, while the subtle presence of the female form adds a quiet intrigue to the composition. Ultimately, art reveals itself not through the precision of its origins, but through the unexpected magic of its transformation.
