Personal Note 3 – Groundbreaking?

Groundbreaking?

“Groundbreaking” is not a term I can apply to my work in general. Technically, my work is safe and mundane, but taken as a complete whole—as a body of work—the images I refer to as “The Cambodians” may be groundbreaking. I say this because I am not aware of anyone else compiling an extensive library of documentary photographs solely dedicated to the Cambodian people.

So while my individual images are not groundbreaking, my greater body of work may be. This seems especially true when the Culture Notes and other information are integrated and support the photography work.

Whether or not my work becomes important to someone, somewhere, at some time in the future is unknown. Regardless, my project continues.
