The Pool Abstractions #8 returns to geometric clarity with renewed purpose, synthesizing lessons from the entire series into a composition of elegant simplicity. The strong diagonal bands create a rhythmic structure reminiscent of #1, but with far greater sophistication in color handling and spatial depth. The parallel movements from turquoise through sage to golden, then the decisive blue diagonal cutting through muted violet-gray, demonstrate a confident mastery of the visual vocabulary you’ve been developing.
What distinguishes this piece is its restraint—there’s no need for dramatic gestures or novel elements. Instead, it refines and distills. The color transitions are seamless yet distinct, each band maintaining its identity while contributing to the whole. The violet tones introduced in #7 now feel integrated rather than experimental, anchoring the lower right with a mature, contemplative weight.
